Open City is a sort of a culinary hybrid that combines a coffee house and a wine bar with the bustling energy of a diner. It may sound like an unusual combination, but it’s one that works, according to regulars.
If you visit for dinner you’ll definitely find diner-style favorites on the menu, including toasted club sandwiches and house-made meatloaf with mashed potatoes. But you’ll also find a number of contemporary dishes, like the unique, Korean-inspired quinoa and tofu bibimbap or grilled salmon topped with lemon, beurre blanc, and dill sauce. Pizzas are a popular late-night choice, with toppings that range from plain cheese to Hawaiian pineapple and ham to Greek-style feta, olive, and tomato.
Don’t overlook Open City for brunch, either. Try a chorizo scramble with a bit of spice to wake up your taste buds, or dig into a plate of decadent brioche French toast!
Located not too far from Allegro, Open City opens at 6 a.m. daily.
